Absolutely AWFUL!!!!!! The woman who met us at the door was rude. The food was mediocre at best, tried to substitute a different kind of fish instead of cod in a platter and was told that the platters are made ahead of time and it was impossible to substitute. Ordered 2 different specials both were sold out. Decided to try their "award winning" lobster salad on brioche roll, WOW!!! talk about hype!!! The roll was a glorified hot dog bun filled with lettuce and a little bit of lobster salad for $29 and a handful of fries. I'd love to see who is giving out these awards. If that wasn't enough, when the bill came, they charged an extra $50 for the surf and turf special that they were sold out of. Luckily we checked the bill or we'd have been ripped off an additional $70 with tax and tip. Stay away from this place!! It doesn't deserve any stars but I can't get it to post without giving it one.
Waited an hour and a half after ordering on my mothers birthday. I have two kids under two that needed to be kept calm for 90 minutes. They had an accident, dropped the drinks in my mother, which is understandable, but we asked and asked for club soda to get the red wine out of her new shirt. After 25 minutes she went to the bar to ask for it herself. When the food arrived we were disappointed to find that the servings were very small, my mothers consisted of just 3 medium shrimp. This was $32? We didn't even eat it, we just left. It was a bad experience and we wouldn't go again. They never even refilled our water in all that time.
So I revisited this place after many many years with my wife to enjoy a late lunch after visiting the east end wineries. I wanted a nice piece of "local" and "fresh fish" maybe broiled with some herbs and garlic.
Food is delicious. Service/staff are top notch! Very friendly & warm. I ordered the Goat cheese salad w/ raspberry vinaigrette (in pic below) & it was huge & delicious! Hubby had fish & chips & the tartar sauce was amazing. Beautiful original decor. Must visit if you're in Greenport. They have a bar in the front too. Gets packed. Outside pic is the view we had from our seats by a window.
The service was slow even though the place was fairly empty.
Save your money and go to a real seafood place elsewhere........
Bad service
Very long wait time.
I was told barrimondi was on the menu,no fluke,no cod,no sea bass but a fish from Australia"frozen by the way"...talk about being clueless..
I wouldnt even give it a 1 star but had no choice.
Small portions
Great lunch. Lobster Roll was delicious and generous. Lobster BLT (!) was amazing. Bacon was crispy with no fat, with a nice-sized slab of lobster tail, FRIED CRISPY, on a tasty seeded bun. All very fresh. Can't wait to return!
Over priced
